Recipient of 3 National Awards and Three Awards of Best Social Worker during 2013-14. As Professor Emeritus and Head (Retired ) and FOUNDER PRESIDENT of INDIAN NATIONAL PORTAGE ASSOCIATION (INPA) since 1994,on the whole I have 52 years of teaching experience .

Originator of Portage Services in India since 1980. Research Projects Directed =32, Papers Published =108, Books=3, Book Chapters Abroad=4 ,Book Chapters in India=3. Training Modules developed =14, Supervised Research at M.A., M.Ed., M.Phil., Ph.D. levels; Attended about 150 National/International Conferences….Chaired several of them. Additional Professional Training at International & National levels.

Awards/Academic Distinction = 62. Presently ,Project Director of Normal and Special children and their Parents for Restructuring AWs (Chandigarh) for all six Dimensions of Health, Pre-school Education etc. of Nation-wide ICDS SERVICE. Providing Innovative Home/ Center/ Institution based Early Intervention Services to Children and Parents through health/Medical Camps, training of Public Health Professional, Para-professional , Non-Professions and their Trainers etc. Running Innovative Courses in Learning Disabilities, Portage Training etc.

Retired as Professor on 31st Aug, 2003 and Awarded Prof. Emeritus Fellowship in July, 05 to July 07, from UGC, New Delhi. Founder President, INPA & President of 5th & 13thInternational Portage Conference in 1994; 2010. Key Speaker during 12thInternational Portage Conference in Sept 2008 at Netherlands. UGC Major Research Project on ‘Inclusive Education’ with 14 Trg. Booklets submitted in Sept.2011 and paper presented during International Conf. of IARP in March 2012.Key Speaker for IPC14 in Georgia (Russia), Oct 2012.

Project Director, Special Children in AWs of Chandigarh. Continuing as President ,INPA, Coordinating 16 Courses of various National and International Bodies such as IPA, RCI, IGNOU , NIOS and Directing Action Oriented Research Projects of INPA, Deptt. of Social Welfare Chandigarh and Disha National Trust of India Project till date.

In my assessment, I have judiciously and faithfully combined my Teaching, Research and Extension Activities/CBR Programs for all round Development of NORMAL &SPECIAL CHILDREN and their PARENTS during my Professional/Administrative Career from July1964 till date. These researches had proven effect on reducing early school drop-outs and joining of pre- schoolers to main stream schools. These time tested techniques and programmes can be replicated throughout the World with the cheap , cost effective , strategies, aids and toys etc. developed by us for all areas of development .
